Bloggiesta starting post: the spring clean begins
For those of who already know what Bloggiesta is, yes I am indeed a day late posting this. Oops! (In my defence I was working on my blog last night, I just forgot to write this post first. I was confused by all the WordPress theme choices!) For those who don’t know, suffice to say you’re gonna see some changes around here this week, including a whole new design. (If you’re a book blogger and don’t know about Bloggiesta, do look it up, as it’s a useful prompt to take care of your blog.)
As always, Bloggiesta begins with a to-do list and here is mine:
Back up blog (all of it, not just the posts).Choose new WordPress theme.Tweak new theme and install it.Tidy up my reviews by author page.Comment on lots of other blogs.Take part in the Bloggiesta advice challenge: post about the best blogging advice I ever received.Take part in at least one Bloggiesta Twitter chat.Look into switching to using WordPress’s Read More tag (this would save me time as I currently hand-create an excerpt for every single post).Remove my blog’s admin user to make it more secure.Read. I’m in the middle of three books at the moment. I really should try to finish one of them this week. Maybe even write a review! This means less bingeing on TV…
So that’s my aims for the week. Do let me know if you’re joining in, or even if you’re a blogger who has experience of any of the above and can offer some advice. Happy Bloggiesta!
Good luck!
Wonderful list! happy Bloggiesta and good luck!
good list and your blog already looks well-organised 🙂 good luck with your goals and happy bloggiesta!
Great list!! I installed a new theme on my blog and thought I messed up. LOL I managed to fix it.
I love choosing new themes. I have one that I like a lot right now, but in the past, I used to change my theme every six months! I hope you like your new one!
Great list! And, it looks like you’re already making good progress. Wishing you a happy and productive Bloggiesta!
This is a great list! Good luck in accomplishing your goals this week!
Hey Kate! I wanted to stop bye, say hi, and wish you good luck on Bloggiesta! It looks like you’re already doing a great job, day late or not posting this. 🙂 I’m doing Bloggiesta as well and I still have quite a bit to do.
One of my goals is to visit and comment on as many participating blogs as possible. I think I’m at 60! My list of what I’ve actually done has changed a lot from what I thought I would do, mostly because I decided to switch from blogger to WP, and be self hosted with my own URL. So many things no longer need to be done, while others have been added.
I’ll have to learn about the WP Read More tag once the switch happens. Sounds like a time saver.
Hope you’ll be stopping by. http://ebogie.blogspot.com
Looks like you’re almost finished with your list! Great job! I still need to catch up on reviews, as I have two more to write. Love scheduling posts as it really takes some of the pressure off! And of course, need to find some reading time, as I don’t think I’ve picked up a book all week because I’ve been so busy with Bloggiesta. Hope you’re having fun!
